As an economically developed city, Guangzhou has experienced varying degrees of soil contamination in some chemical-related areas, with heavy metal pollution being a particularly prominent problem, posing a serious threat to the ecological environment and residents' health. Desen Environmental's soil washing and remediation technology has played a key role in the Guangzhou chemically contaminated soil remediation project.
Desen's soil washing and remediation technology utilizes a combination of physical and chemical methods. Physical screening removes large particles, such as rocks and gravel, from the soil. Chemical washing utilizes specialized eluents that react with heavy metals in the soil, desorbing them from the soil particle surfaces and dissolving them into the eluent. This process effectively separates heavy metals from the soil.
In the Guangzhou chemically contaminated soil washing and remediation project, the Desen team first conducted detailed sampling and analysis of the contaminated soil to determine the types, concentrations, and distribution of heavy metals. Based on the analysis results, the eluent formulation and concentration were customized to ensure optimal washing results. The Desen washing and remediation equipment used in the project features an integrated, modular design, a small footprint, and quick installation and commissioning, adapting to the limited site conditions of the Guangzhou project. Part of the remediated soil was used for site backfill, while part, after testing and compliance, was used in surrounding landscaping projects.
