When Contaminated Soil Threatened a Site — Desen's 30 t/h Response
How Desen Environmental solved contaminated soil contamination at 重庆某污染土壤筛分预处理项目 — reducing soil waste by 90% through on-site soil washing at 30 t/h.
The Problem
The 重庆某污染土壤筛分预处理项目 site faced a serious environmental challenge: soil heavily contaminated with contaminated soil. Traditional dig-and-haul approaches would have been prohibitively expensive and unsustainable, with thousands of tons destined for landfill. Mobile screening system deployed
The Solution
Desen Environmental deployed its modular soil washing plant at 30 t/h throughput. The wet separation process isolates contaminants into a small-volume filter cake while recovering clean sand and gravel for on-site reuse — transforming a liability into a resource.
How It Works — In Simple Terms
- Feed & Screen — Contaminated soil enters the system; oversized debris is removed
- Scrub — A rotating drum washer uses mechanical friction and water to detach contaminants from soil particles
- Separate — Hydrocyclones split the slurry: clean coarse sand/gravel sinks, contaminated fine silt floats
- Dewater — Filter press squeezes the contaminated sludge into dry cake (small volume, easy disposal)
- Recycle — Process water is treated and reused; clean aggregates return to site
Results
- Contaminated soil volume reduced by over 90%
- Recovered aggregates reused on-site, eliminating virgin material costs
- No off-site hauling of bulk contaminated soil
- Project completed on schedule with full regulatory compliance
